Where’s The Beef? Packing Plant Closures, Brazilian Beef & What is Next - John Campbell
Tyson Beef Closing its Doors in Lexington Nebraska on January 20, 2026
On November 20, 2025, Tyson gave the City of Lexington Nebraska an Early Christmas Gift. Tyson, posted a letter saying that the plant would shut down on January 20, 2026. A two month warning.
The plant has been operating successfully since 1990.
According to “National Beef Wire”, Nebraska is the 2nd state behind Texas with the most most cows.
According to the World Animal Foundation, Nebraska is the 4th largest producer of beef in the USA, behind Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
Tyson had the ability to slaughter 5,000 head a day and I believe they were doing 3,000 head a day on average. That’s pretty good considering the herd population is at it’s lowest in about 80 years.
This will terminate over 3,300 jobs in a city just over 11,000. It will be devastating and have a ripple effect to nearby cities.
Long Time Cattle Veteran, John Campbell:
“The Writing is on the Wall, you Don’t have to be very Smart to put 2 and 2 together and see where we’re headed.”
John says that Cattle on Feed are significantly UP in both Nebraska and Iowa, so why would Tyson choose the “cattle heartland” to shut down a plant?
There has to be another “Agenda” as herd populations will get back up there.
John Campbell – a 2025 Cattle Marketing Hall of Fame Inductee – Lifetime Buyer (43 years), Seller, and Manager in the cattle business. John is known all across the U.S., Canada, Europe and even Australia. He is General Manager of Winter Livestock, Inc. He knows the business like no other.
John Campbell is talking about “Vertical Integration” of the Beef Industry.
This means the cattle industry is heading towards being completely controlled by the Corporations and literally removing the Ranchers / Cattleman out of the picture. It’s a PLAN, a strategically planned “power grab.”
The Corporations want control & ownership of the Feedlots. They want control of the process from birth to slaughter, and who will be allowed purchasing contracts.
The Corporations like Cargill, Tyson and JBS want to control how the Beef is Processed and of course own ALL the processing plants which will eliminate all competition.
They want to phase out the “Local Producers / Feeders” and they want to be the “Main Producers.”
The Corporations want ALL the Beef Contracts – meaning they want “Corporate” contracts with other Big Corporations. I.E, like JBS doing business with Tyson or Cargill and they all contract with the Major Grocery Chains, which will eliminate the smaller ones.
They want other Corporations to own the Feedlots, like “Fiver Rivers Cattle Feeding” which was owned by JBS, but due to “corruption” was sold off to another “corporation”, Pinnacle Asset Management. It’s just a “smokescreen.”
The point is that they are ALL working together, they are all in BED together to SCREW both the Cattle Ranchers/ producers and the Consumers.
They are “STRATEGICALLY” making “Chess Moves” that will make it as difficult as possible on the Ranchers. Things as of late have been all roses for the Ranchers, they are raking in the dough.
The short-term trade-off will go from bliss to long-term debt, despair and insolvency.
Their devious plot includes decreasing cattle herds, by keeping cattle prices high, they want the Ranchers to sell most of their cattle inventory, but at the same time they are doing this, they are still selling the processed beef at the same price, for now.
They want the “Family Owned” Feedlots either to sell out or go broke.
That is the “Vertical Integration” plan.
It is a Ranch Derailment Project.
They also want to only sell beef to corporations, like the big food corporations like Walmart.
They want to control the ENTIRE Process and remove the Ranchers, Cattleman, Producers and Feeders from the whole picture. In other words, they are stealing the heart and soul of the Beef Industry.
They will force a Mass Exodus of the Producers & Feeders.
The 50 year future plan is for these corporations to go to “Cloned Beef” and then on to “Lab Grown Beef.”
John Campbell explains the Process that these Corporations are taking:
Eliminate the CASH Market. They do NOT want Ranchers doing business with Ranchers and buying & selling (trading) their stock at Open Auctions, which are based on “REAL” Supply and Demand situations.
Auctions allow TRUE Price Discovery. *Very Important to know this.
They want Ranchers to participate in “Alternative Marketing Arrangements” which will make Producers “Dependent” on the Corporations in the longer term.
ANYTIME you hear or see that word “Dependent” – think “CONTROL.” If you are dependent on something else you are just subject to their wishes, their demands and their ideas, which may seem GREAT at the time, but those ideas WILL abduct and then when you want out to go back to a “Cash Market” because you realize that they also control the prices and when you realize it was all a setup and want to go back to the “cash markets” (live open auctions) there will not be one to go to.
These “Alternative Marketing Arrangements” may buy you houses, tractors and toys right now, but in the future, when you figure out you have been DUPED and the prices no longer provide profitable margins you will LOSE it ALL.
It is a “Generational Trap”, as it’s temporarily good for this generation, but it will wipe out the next.
Watch the Series “Yellowstone” with Kevin Costner, same premise, it is the Ranchers / Landowners vs Corporates.
Do you even own your land anyway? Do you have an Allodial Title? If not, you just have a temporary license, a “Land Deed” to RENT and you are charged Taxes while you rent. A Land Deed is a “Conveyance Right”, you don’t really OWN the land, the government owns the land. If you owned the land you wouldn’t be subject to Eminent Domain.
Don’t expect a “Political Savior” to enter the scene and save the day because the Politicians no longer truly represent the people, they represent the Corporations. Didn’t COVID kind of blatantly expose this?
John is one f*cking SMART man and he knows his shit, literally, whether that be chicken shit, pork shit or cow shit.
John also knows Bullshit, which is what these f*cking Packers like JBS, Cargill and Tyson are up to.
It all looks good now, but it’s all a SET UP.
Cattle Producers are making TEMPORARY Lucrative Contracts with the Devil.
Contracts with the Devil are NEVER good in the Long-Term.
This is the SAME GAME that they played on the Chicken farmers and the Pig Farmers.
Who owns those markets now? The Corporations.
It is unfortunate because as John Campbell says, 85% of the people who buy at Auctions are already in BED with the Packers. Meaning they already have AMA forward price contracts.
It’s a TRICK.
Trump removed the Brazil Tariffs on Brazil Beef Imports, meaning that those buying (packers) in the U.S. will not have to pay the extra “TAX” for the imported beef.
Does anyone see a problem here?
This is encouraging the purchasing of Non-Domestic Beef.
This is called “outsourcing” the beef supply.
This is giving the Corporations more CONTROL. It’s not doing anything for the Ranchers. This is a win for Packers like JBS, Tyson and Cargill.
They can buy it cheap and manipulate the markets up or down, whatever fits their agenda. It allows them to manipulate the Futures.
If they can control the futures, they can hedge any potential losses while exposing the Beef Produces, thus slowly eliminating them one by one.
They can say the HELL with the Local Ranchers / Producers, we are getting our beef cheap and if you want to sell, we will only give you half of what you think is fair.
Trump may have had good intentions when removing the 40% tariffs to allow the packers to buy beef, but it’s doing the exact OPPOSITE.
The packers like JBS, Cargill and Tyson LOVE this deal. It always seems like Trump caters to big money and not the real people.
Rumors are swirling that a Montana Rancher has somehow gathered enough investors to raise $2 Billion to purchase the Tyson plant. That’s not going to happen.
People have posted that when Tyson has shut down previous plants they make sure that competition cannot afford to do anything as they fill the drains with concrete and severe the infrastructure, all wiring and remove integral components.
Not only that, they refuse to sell for years after they leave. This is a “remove the competition” and stress the Heartland Beef Producers move. There are other options in Nebraska, but this is the first move and several more will likely follow.
Would it be wise for cattleman to Coop and build several smaller packers?
The entire “REAL” purpose of closing the plant is to DECREASE competition and force producers to long-haul / ship to their specified distant locations.
Is Nebraska closer to Brazil or is Texas?
